Diffpack GUI: Controlling your Simulator

When running a simulator, you will use the control panel in the lower left part of the Diffpack GUI.

The name of the simulator is shown together with the chosen case name and the name of the input file. Both the case name and the input file are user-selectable items. You might use the "Find input file" button to locate the appropriate input file. The input file can also be loaded into an editor in order to make changes to the input.

Given that the application has defined synchronization points, you may alter the priority of the simulation thread, or even kill this thread.

Once the correct input file is chosen, the simulation starts when you press the "Run simulator" button. This leads to the display of the Diffpack menu system dialog shown below. After a successful simulation, the "View report" button can be used to load the web-aware result reports into your favorite web browser.

The Diffpack Menu System

The menu items, stemming from the Diffpack libraries as well as the application itself, can be viewed in a hierarchically tree structure. Selecting a specific menu item, you may enter a new value by typing on the keyboard or making a selection from a pull-down menu. Thereafter, click the "Click to accept new value". To start the simulations, click the "Run simulator" button.
